Health: Bible nutrition, disease and treatment, gardening, herbs, hydrotherapy, lifestyle physiology, Swedish massage, mental health, mission medicine.
Bible: Adventist beliefs, Daniel, last-day events, sanctuary.
Mission: Christian administration, Christian home, Christian living, God’s healing program, prophetic guidance, self-supporting work, true education.
Health-evangelism: Health talks, health expo, vegetarian cooking, L.I.G.H.T. Training.
My training included weekly outreach programs to nearby communities and support of one of the area’s surrounding churches.
I received a certificate in Health Evangelism, Swedish Massage, and Hydrotherapy.
Lay Institute for Global Health Training
July 2016 – August 2016
Our first mission trip took my wife (then girlfriend) Katrina and I between July and August 2016 to the beautiful Baltic country of Latvia, where close to the city of Redzekne, we led a one-month LIGHT training course. Almost 20 young people received training. During that, I helped to prepare three meals each day for the almost 30 participants. I also gave some massage training.
September 2016 – November 2016
Our second mission trip took us in late August 2016 to Novi Obihody, Ukraine, where we volunteered at an institution called Our Home, comprising a lifestyle center (sanitarium), a medical-missionary training center, a church and several small industries. I tutored English to thirteen of the trainees of the missionary training center every week from Sunday to Thursday.
September 2017 – September 2018
Katrina and I then received a call to work as missionaries in the land of the rising sun. There we joined the staff of the Mount Akagi Institute, just three hours away from the center of Tokyo. The Institute operated the Newstart Bakery, which sold baked goods (bread, cookies, and others) to stores all over the Kanto Plain and the Tokyo metropolitan area. Almost every morning, long before the sun rose, I kneaded bread, molded cookies, and packaged them for delivery. In February 2018 I became the bakery’s new manager.
